Everything We Know About the Google Pixel 11 Pro XL

If you’re a regular visitor to this site, you may have noticed we’re hyped about the upcoming Google Pixel 11 series. Following a friendly chat with the guy who runs our local food truck (hi Earl), we’ve been avidly rounding up everything we could find about the next generation of Google smartphones.

We’ve already covered the standard Pixel 11 and the Pixel 11 Pro, but now it’s the big boy’s turn. Our researchers have been looking into the upcoming Pixel 11 Pro XL, the giant of the series, and we’ve collated all we could find into this one guide.

And without meaning to spoil the conclusion, it looks like it’ll be a beast. The 11 Pro XL promises to be an elite-tier smartphone, and the Pixel family’s equivalent of a bodybuilder or a professional wrestler. What are we getting from the giant? Allow us to enlighten you.

The Google Pixel 11 Pro XL Release Date and Pricing

We’ll start with the all-important questions: when is the Pixel 11 Pro XL coming out, and how expensive will it be? If past years have taught us anything, it’s that it’ll be officially unveiled at a Made By Google event in August, then go on sale to the general public a week later.

Long-term Google supporters might recall this used to take place in October, but they moved it forward with the Google Pixel 9 and haven’t changed since. This was a deliberate attempt to upstage Apple, whose latest iPhone is due in September. This strategy paid dividends last year, and we’ve no reason to suspect they’ll change course in 2026.

As for the price? Uh…you might want to sit down for this. The expected price tags are:

  • 256GB Storage: $1,199

  • 512GB Storage: $1,319

  • 1TB Storage: $1,549

These are anticipated prices, and nothing has been permanently etched into stone yet. However, production costs have risen, mainly due to the ongoing developments in AI technology.

If we assume that the forecasts are accurate, what do you get in return for that big, gaping space in your bank account?

The Anticipated Tech Specs

You might have noticed we didn’t include a 128GB storage model among the price listings above. That’s because Google is reportedly abandoning it in order to keep pace with its competitors. The base model might still have a 128GB variant, but it's less likely for the bigger versions.

That aside, we’re predicting:

  • A Tensor G6 CPU

  • 12GB or 16GB RAM

  • 5G sim dual-active support

  • Facial recognition

  • Voice translation

  • Expanded AI features

At the time of writing, we are only a day out from the company’s Google I/O Event in California. They unveiled a whole host of expansions to their Gemini AI systems, and it stands to reason that a lot of these will be incorporated into the Pixel 11 series.

That update also provides extra fuel for the Tensor G6 chipset rumor. This chip was designed to handle the demands of AI and make them run more smoothly, and with that in mind, it’d be astonishing if Google didn’t include it in the Pixel 11 Pro XL.

Design And Display

As for the appearance, reports indicate that the Pixel 11 Pro XL will be all but indistinguishable from the Pixel 11 Pro. But as that ‘XL’ moniker suggests, it’ll be bigger.

The Google Pixel 11 Pro is said to feature a 6.3-inch display screen, but the Pro XL boasts a larger 6.8-inch screen. If phones have gyms, it must have spent more time in one. That extra size aside, though, the design will remain largely unchanged, bar a few quiet alterations to the camera bar, like:

  • A slightly wider bar

  • A smaller protruding lip

  • An all-black paint job

These changes are so minor that we imagine the vast majority of users won’t notice them at all. But hold up, there’s one last, intriguing rumor linked to the design…

What on Earth is Pixel Glo?

The phrase ‘Pixel Glo’ has been hovering on the fringes of every Google Pixel rumor, but nobody really knows what it is. Except…Google may have just given the secret away by mistake.

In a blink-and-you ’ll-miss moment during the keynote speech at I/O ‘26, speaker Demis Hassabis showed footage of himself using a Pixel smartphone that featured a glowing camera bar

It’s roughly nineteen minutes into his talk, and he doesn’t even mention it as he’s focused on the immersive nature of Gemini Omni AI. However, it caught our attention and suggests that Pixel Glo might be an LED-style notification system on the back of the phone. Granted, it’s more of a superficial upgrade than anything else, but we can’t pretend it doesn’t look cool.

And the Camera?

We know how much our visitors love photography, so it’d be remiss of us not to mention the camera setup. The expected system is:

  • 50 MP main camera

  • 48 MP ultra-wide camera Sony IMX858 sensor

  • 48 MP Sony IMX858 telephoto, 5x optical zoom

  • 42 MP selfie camera

That’s tantalising enough of its own, but Google is also rumored to be adding two new sensors and updated AI to help users take better photos. The only bad news is that the early reports of a 64 MP periscope telephoto camera seem to have been incorrect.

Is the Google Pixel 11 Pro XL Worth Getting?

The Google Pixel 11 Pro XL certainly looks like it’ll be a high-quality device. The specs and camera system in particular make it very appealing, but there is a big caveat: the expected price. It might prove to be too expensive for the average user, and there is a risk that it’ll become something of an exclusive purchase.

That being said, the rest of the Pixel 11 range should fulfill most customers’ needs anyway. If you’re a dedicated tech enthusiast and want the very best, we’d recommend you start saving for that 1TB Pixel 11 Pro XL yesterday. But for the more casual fan, the smaller Pixel 11 models should prove to be enough.

We’ll find out for sure by the end of summer. Until then, keep checking back with Ghostek if you want to stay updated. You can also customize your Google Pixel with one of our attractive cases or top-quality accessories. Have a browse and see if anything captures your eye.
