Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Price: What Can You Expect to Pay?

At $1,899, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is currently Samsung’s most expensive phone. A close second is the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the South Korean company’s premium flagship.

Thanks to their quality dual-screen displays and intricate hinge mechanisms, foldable devices have higher price tags than standard phones. But topping any of those currently available could be Samsung’s upcoming foldable: the Galaxy Z Fold 7. 

The predicted launch date for the latest Fold model is early July, meaning there’s a couple of weeks to decide whether you should invest. However, a few key questions remain. How much will the Z Fold 7 set you back? And is it worth the price? Let’s find out!

How Much Did the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Cost?

Before we jump into the Z Fold 7’s pricing, looking at last year’s model will give us a useful comparison point. Though not impossible, the newer generation is unlikely to be any cheaper and could be based on the following prices:

• 512 GB: $2,019

Will the Galaxy Z Fold 7 Experience a Price Increase?

Based on the evidence currently available, a price increase seems unlikely for the Galaxy Z Fold 7. However, it can’t be completely ruled out until July’s Galaxy Unpacked event, when we’ll discover more details about the latest generation.

Here are three factors that either support or debunk rumors about the Fold 7’s pricing this year:

1. Z Fold 6 Price 

Both the Z Flip 6, Samsung’s smaller clamshell-style foldable, and the Z Fold 6 cost $100 more than their predecessors. This facilitated improvements to the camera system, RAM, battery life, and Galaxy AI, bringing the Fold closer to the specs of the flagship S24 Ultra.

The same can’t necessarily be said for the Z Fold 7, as not every generation sees a price hike. Smartphone companies are often reluctant to increase costs two years in a row, since this can discourage consumers from upgrading.

Backing this up is a leak suggesting that “most markets will keep prices similar to the previous ones.” The same leak does note that a “few countries will get price increases,” though, but it doesn’t state which ones.

2. US Tariffs

Production costs for all US Samsung phones could increase in the near future, mainly due to tariffs imposed by the Trump administration. Apple, Samsung, and any other companies selling smartphones in the US must base their manufacturing within the nation or face 25% tariffs. 

Samsung is thought to currently produce most of its devices in South Korea, Vietnam, India, and Brazil, meaning it would be hit by higher costs. Whether these manufacturing costs would be absorbed by the end price to consumers, though, remains to be seen.

3. Samsung Forecasts

According to South Korean site The Elec, Samsung has reduced its production plan for the Z Fold 7 series to 1.34 million units for June, 260,000 lower than figures presented in May.

This is due to lower sales forecasts, possibly because of uncertainty over US tariffs. Another reason, however, could be potential price increases that may discourage users from purchasing Samsung’s latest foldable.

Can I Purchase the Z Fold 7 At a Cheaper Price?

At nearly $1,900, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be out of many consumers’ price ranges. But that doesn’t mean you have to miss out! Many carriers and online retailers offer pre-order and launch day promos that allow you to upgrade without paying full price.

A good place to start is at the Samsung Store. Eligible phone trade-ins offered up to $1,200 off the pre-order price for the Z Fold 6, plus a free storage upgrade worth $120. Users of this deal also received $100 in Samsung Credit, which was redeemable towards Samsung accessories.

What Will the Galaxy Z Fold 7 Offer for Its Price?

The Z Fold 6 and previous generations haven’t seen many significant upgrades. The good news is that, according to rumors and some clues straight from Samsung, there will be a whole host of improvements this time around.

These improvements, which we’ll explore below, will make the Z Fold 7 the “thinnest, lightest, and most advanced foldable yet.”

Design & Display

Launched exclusively in China and South Korea, last year’s Z Fold Special Edition weighed just 236 grams. This year’s Z Fold 7 is rumored to take inspiration from this device, with a 215-gram weight and 4.5mm thickness when unfolded. 

Sizes may be shrinking, but the Fold 7’s displays look set to be the largest yet! The dual AMOLED screens could measure 6.5 inches (cover screen) and 8 inches (internal main screen), featuring a significantly less noticeable crease through the center.

Cameras

A recent Samsung Newsroom release hints that AI will be at the heart of many major updates to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 — particularly in the camera department. The article points to an “intuitive interface that turns what users see into understanding and action,” suggesting a setup similar to Apple’s advanced visual search.

A 200-megapixel Main camera could be on the cards too, which would match the S25 Ultra. No other upgrades have yet been suggested, but we’d hope to see improvements to the 4-megapixel Under-Display Inner Selfie camera.

Performance & Battery

While the Fold 6’s 4400 mAh battery looks likely to remain, it should offer a more efficient performance. This is thanks to the inclusion of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, which has been confirmed by an FCC listing.

Described as “the world’s fastest mobile system on a chip,” the Snapdragon 8 Elite also runs the Galaxy S25 series and would make the Z Fold 7 the most powerful foldable on the market.

We’d also expect Samsung to keep the same 25W wired and 15W wireless charging speeds, plus 12 GB of RAM.

Final Thoughts: Is the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Worth the Price?

While we don’t know the price point for sure, we do know that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is more than likely to match the previous generation at $1,899. So, would we recommend purchasing this Samsung device?

Samsung’s 7th-generation foldable looks set to include some exciting upgrades. These features definitely make it worth a purchase if you’re yet to invest in a flip or folding phone — although it faces stiff competition from the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold!
